Lucy in the Ogdoad w/ Diamonds
That should grab your attention -- hi, Lucy, got an email from you yesterday, so... you actually read this thing? I've received so little feedback about what all happens here, much of it derived from mental illness, that I decided to reveal all, even where I can only protest that I have loco brains for doing it:
Kimothy Queerly's dread, & she went on vacation to Oreo-gone just in time...
Does Say Bra read this thing? Is this why they've taken Taylor Maid off Thursdays?
Does Buffalo Bob read this thing? Are the strange relationships perhaps moving him to fear & loathing?
Does Doc Larocque, Joe, anybody, read this thing? Is this why the nurse from the City of Electric Light call back & lecture me about not OD'ing on Ambien?
& where the hell was Bingle when we needed him last Saturday?
To take me to the dentist, Car-girl drove the bat-mobile down Dawn's Highway, immediately after taking Trish to Pizza Hut. Trish might have actually needed to walk more badly, as the trazadone had really kicked in, & she didn't look a single bit alert. After the bat-mobile had passed some potholes, Car-girl groaning like she was passing a hard shit, in pain from her back, I asked her to turn back & rescheduled with the dentist.
Worked on "Bio-Esthetics" for awhile, after taking an hour-long nap -- woke up too early again, am still waiting for Ambien-CR to come in, but today -- slept until 6:00! Also made sure Trish went to bed early.
It surprised Trish that I was home when she called from work, to leave a "sexy message" on the answering machine. When she finally got home & relaxed for awhile, she took her typical shower, while I worked on the intro to Light My Fire. Perhaps when Fred comes tomorrow to pick the apples I can show some progress.
About 4:00 we went over to Dawn's Drugs to pick up my Lumagan & Artane, then over to Albertson's for some groceries -- Karen had given us $50 for groceries.
Trish made burritos for supper once again. Her "chore" was simply taking out the garbage, as well as the perennial dishes & floor. We watched some news afterward -- some Senator is Mr. Fruity & Fox News is trying to defend him. Why? Because he's a Republican. Were he a Democrat, it'd be like, "Well, Mr. Fruity, you have to resign right now."
Today will be busy. I have LAC in the Library, I have pre-op on my foot (busted in a suicidal leap), & I might go to the Perky Pam Layout, as I have to fill out the form for my free money (400 buckadingdongs) & cash my spending cash check over at Iron Claw. I want to buy an amplified antenna over at the Invisible Radio Shack.
Also starting yesterday, "Galaxies" is up for review in Critters -- no critiques yet. I know some people become "put off" when I state that Analog likes my stuff, but that's Stan Schmidt's fault, not mine, & realistically, I'm not trying to write for either Asimov's or F&SF. Some of the input will therefore be useless, but that's the fault of the Critters, not the story. It's much the same thing as requiring a considerable amount of dumb-down tech-talk when submitting to those markets, simply to avoid them falsely labeling it "Trek-tech". Am I the only person who's seen 2001?
Yet I'll certainly continue to write on other projects while I'm waiting to rewrite "Galaxies". I'm closing in on a finalized form of "Bio-Esthetics", but can't submit more than one piece at a time. Which maybe should be contributed to Baen's, except they're not scientifically-literate at that magazine, & are closing for submissions September. Asimov's? Perhaps too hard science, but mainly, Sheila Williams has been returning my stuff with form letters, unlike Gardner, but possibly... well, postage still isn't that much.
The weather is Kool in the mornings, hot in the afternoon -- a couple more near-100 days, then a cooling trend.
Bye, Lucy...
Was this post interesting? Because it seemed when I wrote it to be a little hebephrenic-depressive. Anyway, take care.
